I hope you keep up this blog - I'm in TX too - where are you? We're in Grapevine. Right now I have one toddler and a pre-schooler, but have ordered OM kindergarden curriculum and plan on using some of it to get a rhythm to our days. I was motivated to homeschool b/c of all my teacher friends complaining about how TAKS skews teaching efforts - also b/c we may be moving, and there will be less trauma if home-learning remains a constant. I also think it's unnatural for kindergarteners and first graders to sit for long periods of time!!

I'm also a knitter, so I'll be checking back frequently - good luck!

I've seen the way school for the older two has become "all about TAKS" rather than "all about Learning"... hopefully homeschooling will get the boys out of the frame of mind where "school is boring" and start enjoying learning again...

Are you also ordering Heart of Learning & the other books that come with the Kindergarden/Pre-K materials?
